Highlands Ranch was founded in 1981 and is a community consisting of more than 22,000 acres. Located located approximately 12 miles south of Denver in Douglas County, Highlands Ranch has a population of about 96,000 people. Highlands Ranch has received national recognition for its amenities and quality of life.
Currently there are 18 public elementary schools,
four middle schools, and four high schools within the highly acclaimed
Douglas County School District. The school district’s mission
is to promote the acquisition of knowledge, development of skills for
learning, the understanding of ideals and values, and the enhancement of
individual potential. The Highlands Ranch Christian School and Cherry Hills Community
Church both offer private elementary schools and Valor Christian High
School that serve the community.
